We used to travel to Hocking Hills quite a bit. It was a place where we could disconnect from modern society…to ground ourselves and recuperate. One day we went there on a rather busy day. We had to stop in Columbus and had an interview with the Columbus College of Art & Design after I had to work a few hours doing yardwork. The morning was a disaster as far as what we had to do and the amount of time we had. By the time we got to Hocking Hills we were exhausted. All we could do was make some coffee and sit on the porch and watch the birds feed. That is when a humming bird flew up and spent about 30 minutes with us. I was surprised that I was able to capture it so well with my camera because it was moving so fast.

We loved watching it as it would dart from spot to spot and buzz past our heads over to the next feeder. It made the insanity of the morning go away. I remember sitting there most of the afternoon planning our next steps in our lives.
